What Do Lawn Stripes Do?
Whether hosting a wedding, garden party, or just simply want your lawn to look the part, having stripes on your grass is very aesthetically pleasing and relatively easy to achieve. Depending on where you live and the condition of your lawn, during Summer you can be mowing the grass up to 2 or 3 times a week to keep on top of the growth. Grass will begin to grow again around March – April and we recommend keeping on top of your lawn by mowing little and often, whilst being careful not to cut too short as this will stress the grass.
How To Achive Lawn Stripes:
To achieve the attractive stripes, you should first decide which way you want them to go. Once the direction of stripes have been decided, you simply need to use a lawnmower fitted with a rear roller, which will flatten the grass as you mow. The stripes are created as you walk in different directions and can be made darker by further flattening the grass. We recommend slightly overlapping your paths as you mow up and down the lawn, to make sure patches are not missed which will ruin the look of your stripes. Stripes can be made thinner or wider than the width of your lawnmower or roller by carefully overlapping and re-rolling to create the perfect lawn.
